Ruby Baker, Ryder Knox, Jonah Klingler & Rylee Higginbotham represented RCMS at the 6th Grade Regional Brain Games Competition on April 18th in Ina, Illinois. Great job representing RCMS!
8th Grade Promotion will be Friday, May 19th at 9:00 am. There will be 5 tickets available to each student who is in good academic standing. Once tickets have been distributed , if you need more tickets call the office at 395-4372 to be added to a waiting list. If you have an excess of tickets, please return them to the office. Thank you!
8th Grade Promotion Dance - Thursday, May 18th from 6-7:30 pm at the Best Western Parkside Event Center. School dress code will be enforced.
Boys & Girls track pictures are scheduled for Friday - April 21st at 8:30 AM. Please don't forget to bring your uniform! This will be both individual & group pictures.
School will be released one hour early on Thursday, April 6. In addition, there will be no school on Friday, April 7 and Monday, April 10.
Washinton, D.C. Trip Meeting Wednesday - April 12th at 6:00 pm at the Richland County Middle School.
RCHS Cheer Tryouts
We had such a fabulous visit from our One Book author, Wendelin Van Draanen! All students were able to attend a presentation where she discussed how her writing career started and how we need oxygen to breathe life on to the sparks of our dreams in order for them to ignite and take off. A group of lucky students even got to attend a VIP session to talk more with Wendelin and ask some more in-depth questions. A special thanks goes out to the Carrie Winter Grant Foundation and ERFAE for the funding to make this happen, as well as all the help provided by those at the high school and the transportation department.
Don't forget that along with Wendelin visiting with our students today, she and Mark will have their "He said, She said" presentation tonight at 7:00 in the RCPAC located at RCHS. Copies of the 2023 One Book, Wild Bird, will also be available for free to the public. Hope to see you there!
6th graders with good behavior were rewarded with Gross Day activities created by the MathCounts team. The MathCounts team consisting of 7th and 8th graders created a variety of gross activities for our 6th graders to enjoy. Be sure and ask your students what their favorite station was!
