Hello RCMS Family,
Here at RCMS we are working hard to create a unified definition of, and response to bullying. The formal definition we use is: "Bullying is when someone repeatedly and on purpose says or does mean or hurtful things to another person who has a hard time defending himself or herself." This definition was adapted from the work of Dan Olweus, who is long recognized as a pioneer of bullying research.
In order to help our RCMS families better understand bullying, we would like to share with you this infographic explaining the difference between bullying and conflict. At RCMS, we also have an electronic way for students to report incidents of bullying. Every student has this form bookmarked on the browser in their Chromebook, and it can be completed anonymously. A direct link to that form can also be found here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScEfZcOxSh8nm0eesf_SWLpEtk9PHE1daPLjPCss19GE44csA/viewform

We've got some Lucky Ducks in the library! Every time a student checks out a book, they receive a Lucky Duck bookmark with a number on it. Every Friday, Mrs. Adams then picks 3 numbers to be the Lucky Ducks of the week, and each Lucky Duck winner gets to pick out a free book to keep! This will go on all quarter so the more times you visit the library, the more chances you have to win!

Starting tomorrow September, 15!
