This past weekend, six students traveled to Mt. Carmel for IGSMA Solo/Ensemble Contest and we are very proud to say that each student earned a 1st place score. Those students were:

Joe Hunt
Camden Poland
Emma Gilreath
Sophie Combs
Two students in particular earned scores high enough to place them in what is called the "superior" category- Joe Hunt (twice with a piano and trumpet solo) and Camden Poland with a snare solo.
RCMS is very proud!! Way to go!!
RCMS State Testing Information
Students at RCMS will begin state testing on Monday, March 18 and continue testing through Friday, March 22.
Parents, please keep this in mind when picking students up for appointments. Please call the office on your way to allow us extra time to locate your student as they may be testing at that time.
Students, be sure to get plenty of sleep at night and eat a good breakfast each morning! Don't have time to eat at home? Stop in the cafeteria and grab something to eat before heading to class that morning!! 😊

Please make note of a change to the school calendar. There will be no school on Monday, April 8th due to the anticipated volume of extra traffic and people in the area for the solar eclipse.
Here are some upcoming school calendar events over the next few days. First, students will be dismissed 3 hours early on Thursday, February 15 for school improvement activities. In addition, there will be no school on Friday, February 16 due to parent/teacher conferences and Monday, February 19 for Presidents Day.

February 6th was National Chopstick Day. The students were issued chopsticks at lunch to try to eat their Orange Chicken over Rice with. We hope the students enjoyed this opportunity!

RCMS science teachers were thrilled to accept the donation of solar eclipse glasses for our school today. Thanks to Carle RMH, Citizens National Bank, First National Bank, and Trust Bank, our students and staff will have the opportunity to safely view and learn from the upcoming solar eclipse in April!
