Fan Bus
We are watching the weather situation closely.
As of right now, we are taking Fan Buses to the Rend Lake College for the SIJHSAA Boys Basketball Championship Game this evening.
If anything changes, we will make an announcement to the students and put the information out on the RCMS website and Facebook if anything changes.
RCMS would like to thank Gina Kocher and Joni Ginder from Trust Bank for preparing Goody Bags for the Boys Basketball Team. They will be traveling tomorrow evening to Rend Lake College to play in the Championship Game of the SIJHSAA Basketball Tournament.
RCES Kindergarten Screenings for next school year, 2022-2023 are being scheduled now. To schedule an appointment or for more information , contact Kristy Harting at 618-395-8540, ext. 1106.
Fan Bus for the Boys Basketball SIJHSAA Game on Thursday, Feb 17 (Rend Lake College)
-RCMS Students Only-
On Thursday morning, Feb 17, we will have sign-ups for the RCMS Fan Bus(fee is due when students sign-up).
Students must sign-up and will not be able to pay and ride later if they do not sign-up at school on the morning of Feb 17.
The cost per student is $5. This covers transportation and the entry fee to the game. Students will need to bring money for concessions.
The bus will leave the RCMS parking lot at 5 pm on Thursday, Feb 17.
Please do not drop your child off before 4:30 pm. The game starts at 7:30 pm. These games last about 1 hour, and the travel time back from Rend Lake College is a little less than 2 hours. The bus's estimated time to return to the RCMS parking lot is between 10:30 pm and 11:00 pm.
Students will be told to contact parents and guardians when the bus reaches Flora. Please be at RCMS waiting on your child.
This is a reminder that students will be released early on Thursday, February 17 and will follow the School Improvement Day schedule. In addition, there is no school on Friday, February 18 due to parent/teacher conferences and Monday, February 21 for Presidents Day.

It is our current position that we recommend the following:
*Remainder of the 2022 Boys Basketball State Tournaments: Schools will follow the IDPH Guidelines of the All-Sports Policy for players, coaches, officials and spectators. (Masking required as we have followed all season)
Fan Bus for the Boys Basketball SIJHSAA Game on Sat, Feb 12 (Rend Lake College)
For those students that have signed up (we will not allow students to go who have not signed up at the school today, Fri, Feb 11.)
The bus will leave the RCMS parking lot at 11 am. Please do not drop your child off before 10:30 am.
The game starts at 1:15 pm.
These games last about 1 hour and the travel time back from Rend Lake College is a little less than 2 hours. The estimated time of the bus returning back to the RCMS parking lot is between 4:15 pm and 4:45 pm. Students will be told to contact parents and guardians when the bus reaches Flora.
Please send money with your child for concessions at the game.

In a special meeting held on Thursday, February 10, the RCCU #1 Board of Education voted to remove mandatory masking for students, staff, and visitors effective immediately.

SIJHSAA Regional Basketball Game Announcement (Wed, Feb 9)
The Region 8 Championship Game tonight - RCMS vs. Flora - will be held in Carmi at Washington Attendance Center.
Gate will open at 5 pm, and the game is scheduled to start at 6 pm.
Regional Boys Basketball Game Announcement
If you have are planning on attending the Regional Boys Basketball Game tonight at Richland County Middle School, please pay attention to this announcement.
Due to this being a Regional Game, there is a $2 entry fee for all students K-8. K-8 students will need to bring an extra $2 to get in the game tonight—no entry fee for children who are not yet in Kindergarten. Everyone else is considered an adult, and the entry fee is $3.
No Season or District Passes will be excepted this evening due to being a Regional Game.

Attention 8th-Grade Boys Basketball
The Boys Basketball Regional has been cancelled for Sat, Feb 5 at Carmi.
This game has been rescheduled for Mon, Feb 7 and will be held in the RCMS gym at 6 pm.
Attention Volleyball Players
The Robinson Volleyball Tournament for Sat, Feb 5 has been cancelled. This tournament will not be rescheduled.
Attention 6th-Grade Boys and Girls Basketball
The Fairfield Tournament for Saturday, Feb 5 has been cancelled. This tournament will not be rescheduled.
School is canceled for Friday, February 4 due to poor weather and road conditions. Be safe!
