SRO Ameter is overjoyed by the multitude of donations to the 3rd annual SRO Coat & Hoodie Collection Drive. The drive was held November 7th thru December 12th. Pictured are just some of the donations from the American Legion Riders Post #30, John Joyce's family, and the RCHS Holiday Week of Giving student donations. Over 500 items have been collected.
There will no longer be admittance to RCHS athletic events (basketball, wrestling, etc.) through the Ron Herrin Gym lobby. All RCHS visitors are asked to use the front main doors or the staff entrance when attending any sporting events. Parking is available on both lots with handicap-accessible options. Please refrain from parking on the west side of Ron Herrin Gym (Jefferson Street), this parking is for athletes and coaches only.
Richland County High School promoted respect as the STRIPE of the month for November. This month's recipients will show Respect to others...setting a standard for the members of our group. We understand that by being a member of the group, we represent RCHS as ambassadors and will strive to do nothing to disrespect our School, Teammates, Coaches, and ourselves. Mr. Givens will be meeting with Sophomores and Juniors during OTA in the PAC next week. He will be going over pre-registration forms for their required classes and elective options for the 2023-2024 school year. Students will bring the forms home and work on them over Christmas Break and bring them with them to registration in January. The forms need to be completed when Mr. Givens meets with each class in January. Juniors will register the week of 1/4-1/10 and Sophomores will register on 1/11-1/18 with their OTA classes.
Join the Beautiful Lives Project and the Olney Central College Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams for a Court of Dreams event on February 2, 2023, from 1 -2 pm CST at the OCC Gymnasium. Sixty (60) individuals with disabilities will have the opportunity to join the Blue Knights’ players and coaches on the court to learn fundamentals and run through drills. No prior experience is needed, just a desire to play.

Our Holiday Week of Giving continues … Yesterday we collected $80 to donate to Adopt-a-Family, and today our Giving Tree is filling up with items for Good Samaritan and the Richland County Senior Citizens Center.
The RCHS Holiday Week of Giving will conclude on Friday, December 2nd with the Red Cross Blood Drive from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Auxiliary Gym. Students WEAR RED to support the Red Cross! Students can pick up permission slips in the main office. The community can visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter: ERCHS to schedule an appointment.
Our Holiday Week of Giving continued Tuesday with Wear a Hoodie - Give a Hoodie Day, and our donation box was overflowing! We are still accepting sweatshirts and coats throughout the week, so keep those donations coming!
Monday was a great start to the RCHS Holiday Week of Giving. So far, 400 non-perishable food items have been raised for Master's Hands. Freshmen & Juniors are in the lead but the RCHS OTE Community Service is accepting items all week. Keep the donations coming if you want that coveted 1-hour lunch.

On Monday, wear Comfy Clothes & donate non-perishable food items to the Community Service OTE.
On Tuesday, wear a hoodie and give a hoodie to the SRO Coat & Sweatshirt Drive.
On Wednesday, donate $1 to Adopt-a-Family and wear a holiday hat.
On Thursday, wear your Extremely Ugly Sweater and donate hats, gloves, scarves or toiletries to the Giving Tree in the Student Commons.
On Friday, wear red for the Red Cross Blood Drive and sign-up (if applicable) to donate blood. See a student council member for more information. Permission slips available in front office.

Monday 11/28 Comfy Clothes for Cans
Wear your comfy, coziest clothes and donate non-perishable food items. Students should put their donations in their class box located by the front entrance. The Community Service OTE is giving a 1-hour lunch to the winning freshman/junior or sophomore/seniors group.
Tuesday 11/29 Wear a Hoodie - Give a Hoodie
Wear a hoodie and drop off a new or like-new hoodie (or coat) in Officer Ameter's donation box in front of the office. Students are encouraged to wear their hoodies, but they are still expected to keep the hoods off of their heads throughout the school day.
Wednesday 11/30 Holiday Hat Day
Donate $1 to Adopt-a-Family and wear your hat all day - even in academic areas (Houchin approved). Student Council members will be collecting money at the front entrance before school. Students will be given a wristband when they pay. If they do not have a wristband they should not be wearing a hat in an academic area.
Thursday 12/1 Extreme Ugly Sweater
Wear your most extreme ugly sweater and donate hats, gloves, scarves, and toiletries to Good Samaritan and the Richland County Senior Citizen Center. Donation items should be placed on the Giving Tree in the Commons. A list of donation items will also be on the tree.
Friday 12/2 Wear Red for Red Cross
Wear red to support Student Council's American Red Cross Blood Drive. See a Student Council member or sponsor for more information. Students (16 or older) can sign up to donate until Tuesday 11/29.

This is a reminder of some important information regarding the next several days. Students will be dismissed 3 hours early on Thursday, November 17 for school improvement activities and parent/teacher conferences. In addition, there will be no school on Friday, November 18 for parent/teacher conferences. Finally, just a reminder that there is no school on Wednesday, November 23 and students will be released an hour early on Tuesday, November 22. Please contact your child’s school if you have any questions. Have a great evening!
The RCHS OTE Community Service Project is hosting a food drive from November 28th - December 2nd. Please help us by donating non-perishable food items to help support Masters Hands. Donations needed (for example): Ziplock bags, pasta products, canned meats, soups, rice, ramen noodles, beans, canned vegetables, canned fruit, cereal (hot & cold), peanut butter, canned juice, any other non-perishable food items. Donations can be dropped off at the main Commons area before 1st block each day.
Make sure your class wins the hour lunch prize for the winning classes. This year's competition is Freshmen/Juniors vs. Sophomores/Seniors.
Richland County High School promoted trust as the STRIPE of the month for October. RCHS students trust recipients will Trust our teammates, teachers, and coaches; create healthy relationships, knowing that WE can depend on each other.
