The Tiger Baseball game today at home against Marion has been cancelled due to water standing on the field. It will not be made up.

Students from Mrs. Pampe's calculus class found the volume of a butternut squash by water displacement to form a hypothesis. They traced a cross sectional slice of the squash which allowed them to create a computer generated sketch. From that they used the data along with multiple calculus methods to verify the volume of the squash.
One of those methods involved finding the regression curves that best matched the cross sectional slice. This regression curve was then used to create a 3 D model of their squash. One application is that CT scans use this process to determine the size and shape of tumors through cross sectional slicing.
